Leslie’s work has always centred on helping people recognise their strengths, get past the barriers in front of them, and reach their full potential. She brings more than 16 years in education and disability services — four years with elementary-aged children with autism, and 12 years as an online special education teacher working with high school students in co-taught English and mathematics classes.
A large part of that high school work was transitional services: guiding students as they prepared for life after graduation and thought through their educational, vocational and employment goals. It is the same question an injured worker faces, asked at a different point in a life.
She holds a Master’s degree in Special Education and a teaching license, and earned her Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS) certification in April 2026. As Compliance Manager at Vocational Rehab Services she brings special education, transitional services, disability management, advocacy and compliance together to help make sure each person receives quality, individualised vocational rehabilitation services.
Originally from Mexico, Leslie immigrated to the United States with her parents at the age of five and grew up in Las Vegas, which has been home for most of her life. That history shaped a strong appreciation for perseverance, education, opportunity, and for how much it matters to have support and guidance when navigating a transition. As a bilingual professional she understands how important it is for individuals and families from different backgrounds to feel heard, understood and respected.
She is a wife and a mother of four, and works alongside her husband at Vocational Rehab Services. “My years as an educator taught me that there is no single path to success. Whether I am helping a student prepare for life after high school or supporting an injured worker through the next chapter of their career, I believe in meeting people where they are, recognising their individual strengths, and helping them move forward with confidence.”
