Our Founder Bio

Angel Vargas is a seasoned Bilingual Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, the owner of Vocational Rehab Services, Inc., with over 40 years of experience in Workers’ Compensation vocational rehabilitation counseling and job placement services, and 20 years managing his own business in the same field. Angel is a Certified Disability Management Specialist, a Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist, and a Certified Disability Job Developer, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, in addition to Master’s Degree coursework in Higher Education Psychology from University of La Verne, California. Angel’s language skills include total fluency with English and Spanish, medium fluency with French and Portuguese, and a light knowledge of Italian. Angel’s areas of expertise include working with minorities, especially the monolingual Spanish speaking client population, capable of working with individuals of all ages, all races and all cultures. As a job developer, he is competent to work with individuals of all backgrounds and groups of all sizes in the preparation of job seeking skills, interviewing skills, job success skills, and lifelong success skills. Having been born in central Mexico near Guadalajara and migrated to the United States at eleven years of age, Angel is not only bilingual, but also bi-cultural, leading by his example of dedication, professionalism and mutual respect.
